Bosch Washing Machine Door Seals

Washing Machine Parts

Door Seals to fit Bosch washing machines. The purpose of the washing machine door seal is to provide a watertight seal when the door is closed, preventing water from escaping from the front of the washing machine.

Bosch door seals aren’t all the same, so the one you need depends on your exact model. You’ll find the model number on the rating plate, which on most Bosch washing machines sits inside the rim of the door opening or on the back of the machine.

It’s usually a mix of letters and numbers, often beginning with WA. Check that number against the seal before you order, because a seal made for one model won’t always fit another.

Signs your Bosch door seal needs replacing

If your seal has worn or perished, then water will escape onto your floor. Often, the seal is just worn at the front, causing a small trickle of water to run down the front of the washer.

Other times, there may be a split in the seal, which may not be visible unless you give it a good look inside your machine. Either way, it will need replacing before the problem gets any worse, or causes damage to other components inside your machine, not to mention the damage to your flooring and the surrounding area.

Stopping your door seal from going mouldy

Sometimes the door seal can become mouldy and develop black staining, usually due to neglect. Good practice is to wipe the seal after each wash to remove any excess water, then leave the door slightly open to let air in. This keeps the seal in better condition for longer and reduces the odour emitted by a mouldy seal.
